This project, undertaken in collaboration with April O’Brien, was commissioned by David Blakesley for Parlor Press, a boutique academic publisher. The concept revolves around the waveform generated from the spoken rendition of the book’s title, recorded into digital audio software, envelop both covers of the publication. This artistic representation symbolizes the enduring significance of orality within the realm of communicative technology.
Set in Avenir, a term derived from French signifying “future,” the title choice adds layers of meaning, subtly hinting at the enduring relevance of oral communication amidst the relentless march of technological advancement. This selection underscores the continued importance of spoken word interactions in our increasingly digitalized world.
